We now have outdoor seating on our lovely two-tiered patio! Come enjoy the sun with your lunch and a summer cocktail.

We specialize in a unique menu of Alcoholic Tea & Coffee Cocktails as well as some of the classics. We offer local Absinthe, Wines, Beers and Cordials.  We proudly serve 30+ Varieties of Local Favorite Townshend’s Teas.  We use local Trailhead Roasters Coffee & Espresso, organic & direct trade.  We have a full menu of gourmet sandwiches made with organic and sustainable ingredients featuring our house specialties, Tamarind Pulled Pork and Smoked Salmon Rillettes, along with house-made soups, salads & specials. Enjoy pastries, sweet & savory scones, and cookies, all baked in-house daily.  We offer house made ice cream & a selection of iced teas for those hot summer days.

On weekends we serve a boutique brunch from 10-3:30 that changes weekly and seasonally: featuring a trio of skillet baked egg options, veggie biscuits & gravy, a breakfast sandwich, and there’s always a vegan/gluten-free option.

History

Established in 2011

Though the location has taken many forms (art gallery, thrift store, and the former location of The Dollar-Scholar), soon to be married proprietors Katie & Christopher have returned the building to its former majesty and created their own unique, tea house inspired atmosphere that mixes the Victorian old-world aesthetic with local modern art and music. Named in honor of Katie’s Great Grandmother who ran a tea house/speakeasy during the prohibition, The Hazel Room offers a unique Tea & Coffee Cocktail menu, Wine, Beer & Absinthe, along with gourmet sandwiches, in-house baked goods and a weekend boutique brunch all in the warmth of a cozy classic space.
